Little Angel Theatre
The Little Angel Theatre was founded in 1961 by group of puppeteers under the leadership of John Wright. They found a hall in Islington and transformed it into a working theatre especially designed for children. In the beginning, they would create shows for marionette puppets. Over the next thirty years the company created and toured shows around the world, and they have taken some into schools. Since then, LAT have used all types of puppets within their shows, and now they take influence from a wide range of cultures.
Employment Hierarchy:
Peter Glanville (see left) is the Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Little Angel Theatre, and has been for the past eight years, however from November 2013, he will be the new Artistic Director of the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon. Before joining Little Angel Theatre, Glanville directed productions for Kazzum, a company he founded in 1989.
Lynette Shanbury is the Executive Director at LAT and has been working there since 2006, where she started as the administrator.
Lynette went to University to study a degree in Geography. It was during this time that she began to enjoy working with the university theatre. She completed an MA in Arts Management at City University for one year. Before joining Little Angel in 2006, she worked for a company called Arts & Management as a researcher.

David Duffy is the Technical Manager and organises the technical support for all of LAT's shows and tours. He does the lighting designs which are important as he has to bring the puppets to life and make them look animated without putting them into shadows because of the lighting. Cinderella was the first production he worked on at LAT.
He trained at Goldsmiths College doing a degree in Drama and Theatre Arts. During his training, he wanted to go into performing, however he discovered that he enjoyed lighting design and followed that towards the end of his degree course. In his third year at University he decided to take the path into lighting design, however it took him a good year to find work. He was encouraged to do a City and Guilds course in Stage Management and Electrics which he enjoyed, however this course no longer exists. He came to Little Angel after several other jobs and was able to have creative input. He had never worked with puppets before and says "its been a really great experience."
